An accurate birth-time is vital for a nuanced chart consultation. While it is still possible to discuss aspects of the natal chart without a birth-time, the focus will have a broader feel and many forecasting techniques will be limited in scope.

There are several things to consider prior to having an astrology session. The first is to make sure that you have researched the type of consultation you are looking for and matched the astrologer to that type.

There are many different branches of astrology, including evolutionary astrology, psychological astrology, traditional astrology, Hellenistic astrology, etc so if you follow any astrologers on social media then chances are that you are taking in a particular way of looking at astrology, so you’ll probably want an astrologer who vibes with what you seeing and watching.

Having a clear sense of what you would like to get out of the session is also important. What areas of your life are you particularly interested in knowing about? This kind of information will guide the astrologer in what to research in your chart. And it can help ensure that you are satisfied by the end of the session as the astrologer has focused on what’s most important to you.

Reiki sessions can be helpful in so many different ways as they touch the individual on the physical, emotional, mental, and energetic/spiritual levels of being.

Ensuring that you are in a quiet space and that you will be undisturbed for the duration of your session is important.

If you can be in a space that is free from clutter and/or mess, that can be helpful, too.

Taking time to notice yourself on the four levels of being before the session and communicating some of this to the practitioner will help highlight any shifts that you may feel after the session.

Finally, don’t try too hard to feel anything! Flow comes from being in a relaxed state and space, so worrying about whether or not you are “doing it right” actually stops the flow of energy! Trust that you are getting what you need and that the energy is flowing, regardless of whether you feel anything or not. Like an ice-cube melting, it may seem like nothing is happening and then all of a sudden the change is obvious. So patience and openness will make for a better session in the end.

The best way to get the most out of a coaching is to commit to a series of sessions and make the effort to show up energetically to each one.

Doing this will automatically lead to the kind of engagement and collaboration that will guide you further along the evolutionary path that you are on.

Having a level playing-field with your coach and feeling mutual trust and respect help create a foundation of safety that is vital for co-creation.

Communicating as openly as you can — what you're feeling, noticing, and connecting to — creates a rich foundation for generating insight and meaningful next steps.

Astrology is a wonderful way to both zoom out and zoom in to the overarching themes and detailed motifs in your life.

Symbols are multi-faceted jewels that we can turn and turn again in the light for glimpses of different facets of reality. Seeing ourselves and our lives through a snapshot of the heavens when we were born and through the ongoing movements in the celestial sky is a magical experience.

It can feel deeply validating—you feel seen and acknowledged. It can help you honour what is happening in your life and grapple with the stress, overwhelm, and/or grief that you are feeling.

And it can provide clues as to when you might start to feel differently, or when a different energy might take over, or how you might approach your current state and sit with it, work with it.

Astrology is a wonderful modality to spend time exploring the self and life through story. And it can be a potent tool for generating awareness.

Reiki can help with bringing the parasympathetic branch of the nervous-system online. Known as the rest-and-digest branch, or the tend-and-mend branch of our nervous- system, it has been shown to be integral to the body’s capacity for healing.

In addition to the body level, Reiki also works on the other levels of being—emotional, mental, and energetic/spiritual. Often in sessions, I will hear clients report afterward that they feel they have greater insight into a pattern or habit, or simply feel uplifted and inspired, whereas before the session they were feeling stuck.

The magic in coaching is in creating awarenesses that are then followed through with practice. Guidance and accountability around how this practice unfolds is key to turning a breakthrough into a transformation.

With a one-off coaching session, while there may be some benefits, more often than not, they will not be sustained. Engaging in a coaching container allows for a larger landscape in which to find movement and sustainable progress.
