Rectifying Woody Guthrie’s Chart

After looking at the astrological symbolism behind the recent breakthrough in treating Huntington’s Disease, I fell down a rabbit-hole when I realized that Woody Guthrie’s natal Sun was conjunct the Cancer Jupiter Return of the first paper on this disease and the announcement of a pioneering treatment to slow the symptoms of this awful disease (which Guthrie died from). I set about seeing what else I could see in his chart and tried my hand at rectifying it.

Empathy vs Sympathy

I appreciate this is not an astrological post, but this is about topics that are dear to me, including community and the human nervous system, so I wanted to share this here today.

Charlie Kirk's quote on empathy versus sympathy has been making the rounds on social media and this is what he said:

"I can't stand the word empathy, I think the word empathy is a made up new age term and it does a lot of damage. Sympathy is a better word, because empathy means you are actually feeling what another person felt, and no one can feel what another person feels."

I would like to push back on what Charlie Kirk said about empathy and write about what I think he got wrong in this quote.

Thinking About Eclipses

I’ve been thinking about the upcoming eclipse season and wanted to share some thoughts. We have a total lunar eclipse on the North Node at Pisces 15°24' on September 7th (UK time). And then we have a partial solar eclipse on the South Node at Virgo 28°59' on September 21st (UK time).

Being obsessed with the nodes, I can't help but pay attention to the kind of eclipse and whether they are happening with the North Node or the South Node, because these distinctions do speak to us and what unfolds as a result.
