Thoughts on my 2nd Saturn Return

As I go through the final pass of my second Saturn Return, here are a few things I've learned: - before Pluto came along, Saturn was about extremes and in Hellenistic astrology, Saturn rules the opposition; so Saturn will indicate both extremes and opposite sides of the coin that we must confront and puzzle out within the container (Saturn) of our own lives. What is important to me and where am I able to choose where I put my attention?

- Saturn is BOTH gravitas AND levity; wherever we have Saturn in our chart is where we are being asked to find humour and find the ability to laugh at ourselves; we're being asked to reconcile the seriousness of life with detachment from that very seriousness (Capricorn & Aquarius).

- I've often thought about how Saturn in Pisces (on a personal level, not mundane) is about HOW we can take that which feels heavy and allow it to feel less heavy.

I think back to being a kid and being able to lift my dad in the water, even though he weighed more than me. Ships float in water because of displacement. Accessing imagination to create something--anything!-- is an amazing way to reconcile gravitas with levity.

- the second Saturn Return does ask us to face aging in society in a way the first Saturn Return does not. The first Saturn Return seems to be about how we take responsibility for ourselves, both our being & our actions.

On the other hand, the second return seems to be about grappling with how we might feel abandoned by society & by youth-obsessed culture, and also about how we are more emboldened to seek out a path/purpose that is truly unique to us as an individual.

- and finally, it's felt like Saturn has been really making me think about my life as a container in general: what I would like to keep in gains heightened clarity by what I choose to let go; what I would like to build going forward becomes more real by releasing those pieces (often half-finished) that no longer serve to support me. I am invited to become more authentic by claiming back authority I had previously given away.

I have other musings, but I'll stop here for now. Being at this cusp of looking both backwards & forwards, inward & outward, and materially & spiritually makes me appreciate the mystical side of Saturn that I think ppl often forget. Hopefully this goes some way to rectifying that deficit. 🪐🙏
